Waddington Parish Council
Waddington Summer Fair / Party in the park 19th /20th June
Preparations are in full swing now and we can now confirm the following bands will be playing over the Friday and Saturday for the party in the park 2026
As well as the heats on the Friday night for the Waddingtons got talent contestants, we will have “The force” playing live music during the evening alongside the funfair and food and drink outlets. As always, we welcome you to bring your own Drinks/Picnics as we appreciate the economic climate and that’s why we wanted to bring live entertainment for free.
Saturday afternoon we have the finals of the talent show as well as live music from “R Squared” another fantastic band. And on Saturday night we have the very popular local band “General Admission” to take you through the evening till about 10pm
And as always there are lots of stalls, as well as the Alpacas, Classic Cars, Miniature Railway, Games as well as licensed bars with return from James Hooton aka Sam Dingle from Emmerdale. The farrier’s bar is hoping to set up a cider tent for this year’s event. Hot food provided by Waddington RBL and Waddington Scout group and other vendors. Benny’s fair is back with his popular fairground rides.
We will also be having a big raffle and welcome donations from local businesses.
Cllr Martyn Hurst and the events committee have listened to the public on what they want to see and taken on board suggestions, so hopefully we can deliver yet another successful weekend show.
Remember if you or someone in your family has a hidden talent and would like to showcase it in our Waddington’s got talent contest, you can get an application form from the Parish Council Office or email Waddington.pc.clerk@outlook.com. Application forms are then returned with a short clip.
Family Fun Day September 5th
On Saturday September 5th we will once again be holding the Waddington Dog show and family fun day down at Waddington Redwood drive community centre. It will also give you all chance to see the vast improvements which have been made down there to the facilities.
We have brought the show forward a few weeks hoping to get nice weather as once again we have been kindly sponsored by Lincoln Edge Vets.
Projects Update
Now that spring is here the drainage ditch along Sidney Hall field is getting dealt with and the perimeter footpath is also getting a makeover, so there may be a closed sign at the entrance way off Station Rd whilst large Plant equipment is working on the field.
The road around the burial ground is also being reinstated to help access for people.
Two new benches have been placed in the burial ground and ongoing work for a memorial garden area.
Potholes So we know the country has a pothole problem and if you’re not aware you can easily report a problem on the Fix my street app. It’s easy to use and the fastest way to get a problem looked at hopefully !
Dog fouling Sadly a few dog owners are giving others a bad reputation If you see someone not picking up their detritus you can report them to North Kesteven District Council on 01529 414155, with the location, time and description of dog and owner. Penalties apply under the public space Protection order.
