Waddington Parish Council
I have been the Clerk to Waddington Parish Council for 19 years now, it is such a diverse role, from administrative work, accounts, line manager and project manager to name just a few. I have a very busy job, but one I enjoy. However, my 19 years is nothing compared to the 30+ years, Mrs Lesley Saunders has been with the Council. Lesley is currently one of the caretakers/cleaners for the Village Hall, but she started with the Council as a handyperson, strimming, grass cutting and cleaning around the village. Although Lesley has reduced her hours with us, she has no plans on leaving us soon. Thank you Lesley for all your years of service.
I must not forget to mention, Cllr Michael Gallagher and Cllr Mrs Patricia Hopkins, who have also been on the Council for 30+ years. The knowledge and experience they bring to the Council is invaluable, not forgetting that Councillors are volunteers and not paid, so the fact that they have given over 30 years of their time to help look after the village they live in is amazing. Thank you for all your years of service.
Thank you to all the other Councillors who volunteer their time too, to help look after the village and help organise the events and project that we do.

Projects
In April, we did some work on the Sidney Hall Field footpath and the road in the burial ground.
The work on Redwood Drive Community Centre has been completed, and we hope to do some improvements to the playground very soon.
As a large Village, we have lots of areas that we would love to do some improvements to, but unfortunately, they all cost money.

The Cricket Team have been busy building their own new Cricket Pavilion, the Parish Council have paid for the materials, but the cricket team have done the work themselves. A special thank you to Mark Hall, the club Secretary and Treasurer, who has been co-ordinating with the Council over this. This is well overdue, and was due to happen a few years ago, but due to finances had to be put back.
